This land was sold and the proceeds went into general revenue during 2004. The sale was bitterly resented by the community and received no help from the sitting  Councillor. The land gives an opportunity for the development of infrastructure in Emerald.

To my Blog Readers on 16th February 2010

February 16, 2010 Ed Chatwin Leave a comment

Belatedly, a Happy New Year, or same for Chinese New Year in 2010 the year of the Tiger.

I have found the requirement of Blog maintenance and having time to read and write for it too pressing on my time therefore I have been concentrating on my private life and Council work.

I have been on holiday in Tasmania and Canberra.

Tasmania was a delightful rest, plenty of walking , good food and wonderful company.

Canberra I have enjoyed many times and if you visit, the National Portrait Galley is a must.

The National Museum on the site of the hospital was a disappointment.

But I am back on Blog.

Emerald Lake park

Emerald Lake park

Great news! The Federal Government have given the conditions associated with the grant of $500,000, when added to the Shire contribution of the same amount will bring the park into the twentyfirst century with much needed renovations.

See the Cardinia Shire Website for the detail.

The negative message that has been expressed is the appearance of the page which is difficult to follow.
So this is called “ChaoticSoul” how does it grip you?

Ranges Ward, I need your help!

June 5, 2009 Ed Chatwin 5 comments

Welcome to my Blog.
I was elected by you for a second  term as one of your representatives to Cardinia Shire promising to work to bring about a debt reduction strategy and obtain a fairer share of the capital expenditure budget.
This blog will explain the current issues and alert you to how you can support me to achieve, through due process, to support debt reduction and equitable spend of the dollars left over.

As you maybe aware, over the last 3 years I have been a lone voice.  But now the 09/10 budget has had a 5-2 vote.

The two votes against had  the Rate Increase and reducing Capital Expenditure in the Central Ward growth corridor at the core of the argument.

We are still in significant debt [$44.8million forecasted].

All is not lost because the motion before Council was for the Draft Budget to be given to the community, for comment.

I need your help to get a fair and equitable share of funds that remain to support the well being and amenity of residents of Ranges Ward.

Please join-in, add comments and be heard – Get to as many General Council Meetings as possible and help me get your point of view across.
Regards
Ed
